With the birther movement, I've yet to hear anyone forward their evidence in the popular media for why we should think that Obama is not a US citizen. All we get is criticisms of his birth certificate. Why should I think he was born in Kenya? What's the theory?

What I don't get about the "birther" movement...
The primary baffling attribute of the "Obama is Kenyan" conspiracy theory in my eyes is the complete lack of any evidenciary support for the claim. With the Kennedy assassination you at least have some truly remarkable physics caught on video that gave rise to the magic bullet theory. With the 9/11 truthers, you have one of the most incredible events of the modern age, again, caught on multiple dramatic videos. In both instances, there is plenty of material for people to mull over, argue about, and gradually come to canonize into a theoretical system.

This is the logic: He's black and I don't like him, therefore he's bad. America is good. Something good can not give rise to something bad, therefore Obama can't be American.
ReplyDeleteRemember old Jesus said something about good fruit coming from bad trees, or bad trees not giving rise to good fruit. And then he put a demon in some guy's herd of pigs and ran them off a cliff.
It's all connected.
